David Nagy
DAVID NAGY is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he received a degree in Music Education from Duquesne University. He moved to the South Florida area in the 1980's where he has been working in the music and theater scene ever since. He has three times won the Carbonell Award for Best Musical Direction for productions of Jacques Brel, Smokey Joe’s Café and Urinetown the Musical. As an actor, he has appeared in such shows as Company, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and How to Succeed… As a composer, David has written vocal, choral and instrumental works, as well as the scores for two musicals, Gateway to Tomorrow (commissioned for the centennial of the City of Miami) and The Shop on Main Street. David is organist and choir director at Miami Shores Community Church, and lives in Hollywood, Florida, with his cats, Bandit and Willow.
